AM990 helped launch the careers of BB KING,Howlin' Wolf,Ike Turner,James Cotton,Junior Parker and many Sun Studio stars such as Elvis Presley,Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash. Artist were able to purchase time on the station to play their music and perform live giving them the exposure to the public as well as the local club owner and record producers.
